About Us

Basis of Faith

Fittleworth Evangelical Free Church is a church built firmly on the Word of God, with Jesus at its centre and seeking to grow and move forward empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Vision statement

That those already part of the church in Fittleworth be discipled, refreshed and revived with God's Word and His Holy Spirit

That people of all ages will be drawn to Jesus through the church here and will be loved, cared for, saved and discipled.

Location and background

Fittleworth Evangelical Free Church (FEFC) is located in the village of Fittleworth, which lies in the Rother Valley, a spectacular part of the West Sussex countryside. The parish of Fittleworth has a population of just over 1000 in 450 dwellings ranging from council houses to single detached residences of a high standard.

The church was founded (as Fittleworth Mission) in 1906. We moved to the present site in 1937 and the building was refurbished and modernised in 2000. However, only 25% of our congregation live in the village. The rest are drawn from a wide area, with regular visitors located up to 10 miles away in some directions.
